Which Umbrella Is the Better Buy?

One costs less. The other might last longer. What else should you check?

Two umbrellas with four-dollar and nine-dollar price tags

Two made-up umbrellas cost $4 and $9. The $4 one breaks after two rainy walks. The $9 one lasts longer in this example.

A low price matters. So does whether an item works and lasts. Durability means how well something holds up over time.

But someone with only $4 can't simply choose the $9 umbrella. That matters, too.

Could they borrow one, fix an old one, or find another choice?

Compare the price, the job it needs to do, and the money you have. A higher price doesn't always mean better quality.

THE BIG IDEA

Think about cost, usefulness, and how long an item may last. A higher price does not always mean better quality.
